Founder

Denise M. Sullivan, CPA

Denise leads Sullivan & Co. from the firm's Ward Parkway office in Kansas City. Her practice covers individual and business tax preparation, multi-state returns, strategic tax planning, accounting and bookkeeping oversight, transaction structuring, business consulting, and representation before tax authorities.

Clients engage her both in person and remotely. The remote work is not a separate service — it is the same relationship, delivered through secure document exchange, electronic signatures, and direct communication with the firm.

Denise's work centers on making sure the return, the books, and any related transactions agree — and that the file is organized well enough to carry into the following year without starting over.

How the Firm Works

Small enough to know the file. Technical enough to defend it.

Sullivan & Co. keeps a deliberately focused practice. Every engagement is led by a CPA and grounded in the client's actual file — prior returns, state history, entity records, and any open notices — rather than a script.

Because the same file follows the client across years, the firm can move quickly when circumstances change: a mid-year move, a new entity, a property sale, an inheritance, or a notice from a state that a client did not realize they still had a filing relationship with.

Privacy is treated the same way. Client information moves through a secure portal, is retained only as long as the engagement and applicable rules require, and is never shared outside the firm without explicit direction.
